Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers #2) by Claudia Connor

When a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

Worth the Risk was so much worth the read! One word: wow!

I wasn't expected to be caught in a such whirlwind roller coaster of emotions here!
This one is about Stephen and Hannah.
Stephen is a successful business man, having a dark past and side, leading him to be a bachelor with no strings attached, enjoying his life as it.
But one day, he met sweet, beautiful Hannah and both their lives would change forever.

How opposites they could be, their lives, souls collided in a way they wouldn't expected.
Hannah had issues with people, trusting someone, not at ease at all. She is a hippotherapist. This woman seemed to bring light everywhere she goes. Despite all she had to go through, she still had this hope, light glowing all around her. She's a fighter, a survivor! She looked like fragile, so sweet, too innocent, but it was only that people thought about her but she was so much more!
She had her 4 protective brothers, acting like bodyguards.

Stephen, even with his big family, kept them away in his life, putting them to distance after a tragedy happened. Scared by the darkness inside him, he hadn't move on, stuck into his intern battle. His life was enough for him, until he met her, and couldn't get her out of his head.
And oh my, this man had so much sides: sexy, sometimes not confident, caring, sweet, romantic. His heart was so much broken years ago that he was scared to let someone in, to see the real him. His scars made him so much real, not the cliché of the millionnaire/bachelor screwing women.

I loved how both of them grew up, healed together. Even if there was a lot of battles they had to fight, being together was their strength and worth the risk. This story was just beautiful, emotional, I was dazzled by their healing through their insecurities, fears, for a second chance to love, and to live again. I really loved this book and this series! I just want to read all about the McKinney family! I just love them! Can't wait for J.T's story!
