Echoes of Scotland Street (On Dublin Street #5) - Samantha Young

Shannon MacLeod has always gone for the wrong type of man. After she drifted from one toxic relationship to the next, her last boyfriend gave her a wakeup call in the worst possible way. With her world shattered, she’s sworn off men—especially those of the bad-boy variety.

Cole Walker is exactly the sort that Shannon wants to avoid—gorgeous, tattooed, charming, and cocky. But his rough exterior hides a good man who’s ready to find “the one.” He’s determined to pull Shannon from her self-imposed solitude and win her heart.

As Shannon opens up in the face of Cole’s steady devotion, the passion between them ignites to blazing levels. But when Shannon’s past comes back to haunt her, her fears may destroy the trust Cole has built between them—and tear them apart for good…

My review :

Echoes of Scotland Street is a very sweet, emotional story about two lost souls who find themselves again after nine years.
Reading this book reminded me this scene in the epilogue of Before in Jamaica Lane, when Cole met a certain red haired girl and seemed totally under the spell. It’ s so disconcerting to have Cole’s story because this encounter marked me.

I love seing all Joss and Braden’s makeshift tribe over the years : a very tight group, always having each other’s back. standing united as a family.
Cole is such a grown up man who has an amazing, big heart, always put the ones he loves first. Under all the tattoos and his friendly attitude with women, he’s looking for his soulmate, the one who will captured his heart and love him unconditionally.
Shannon in the other hand, beautiful red haired, smart ass, never the one to bite her tongue or hold back, she can defend herself. Excepted when it comes to ex boyfriends and above all her family. She never has their consent about her decisions, because all i can say that this girl has a radar for assholes! I feel bad for her. She has the habit to make bad assumptions (especially with Cole).
We can feel the chemistry between them and constant sexual tension across the story. I was so impatient to see when Shannon is gonna to surrender and admitted her true feelings for him. Cole is so a nice guy, very patient with Shannon and above all being hot and gorgeous at the same time!
I’m wan’t happy with some Shannon’s decisions and issues but she gets her head out of her ass and saw that a family isn’t just about sharing the same blood but having people to care about you and accept you just the way you are.

In each book, each main female character is strong, independent and when they’re in love, nothing gets in the way and i appreciate it, and the men! Just WOW! Shannon took me by surprise at the end of this book. Her behavior evolves and Cole is * SWOON* too wonderful! All the series is stunning and Samantha Young writing blew everything off by putting just the right words at the right time, with goes straight to the heart!
