One Funeral (No Weddings #2) - Kat Bastion, Stone Bastion

The stakes climb higher in this second book in the No Weddings Series for Hannah Martin, a woman restrained by her past, and Cade Michaelson, the man who could help set her free.

I’m drawn to Cade as he charms his way into more of my life and offers me something I truly haven’t ever had: a friend. Yet his humor, patience, and drop-dead sexiness take my breath away, and I know my heart is at risk. I want to move forward but am terrified I can’t.

Cade seems to have it together from his own devastating heartache. His subtle actions, however, suggest a different story. And even though he says he wants more, I wonder if he’s able to trust in our developing relationship.

As we navigate through our tangled feelings, we vow to take it slow. Yet no matter how careful we try to be, things between us intensify—and there’s nothing we can do, or want to do, to stop it.

But the biggest question remains: Is chemistry enough to move beyond the past and toward a future together?

My review :

ARC provided by Netgalley for an honest review!

This the second book and we following Hannah and Cade's relationship after their first date.
They agreed to put it to an other level, more intimate. Hannah seemed more sure about how she feels and trying to get better by consulting a therapist. She's working on her issues and this one is told by her POV.
I love how Cade try to make things easy, always putting her first, but what surprises me that even he shows her how important she is, he's like he's kind of afraid to show others that they're more than friends. I can see that he has some issues and as her, go to see the same therapist.
I really like how they are always honest to each other, when something bothers them and make compromise. It's how a real relationship is working and like that.
And the parts about the pasteries make me gain a few pounds just by reading it!(what about Hannah's creations of art, all her fabulous cakes!!).The authors were really original about it!.Fortunalety all the sex parts counteract it!lol

The end was wow, so romantic, i think i just fall in love with Cade, he makes me swoon! It was like a baking of a chocolate cake, steamy, hot, when you can hear the crackling of it and the feeling of all the smells melting outside. You want to eat just a piece of it but you just eat half without realizing! This is an old school romance settling in a contemporary time.
I can't wait to read the third book!
