Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

My review :

Ugly love is a kind of story which doesn't leave you indifferent. You're warned from the title and blurb that none of it would be easy; get ready to take a ride on a whirlwind of emotions which goes straight to the heart.

Miles, is a tortured soul, blaming and punishing himself for a tragic event on his past. Becoming a pilot lead him to met Tate, the sister of one of his coworkers.Their first encounter was kind of memorable for both of them. In one moment, they could feel this strange attraction but Miles wasn't in his best behavior and tried to drawn his sorrow with alcohol. Even inhibited, being with Tate woke up in him feelings he thought he'd never experienced again.

Couldn't denying his attraction to her, he proposed her a deal: no string attached, just sex and being honest with her : never fall in love with him, don't ask about his past.

Chapters were in dual POV: Miles in his past and Tate in present time. One stuck in his past and one is living the moment, without restraint. We can see how Miles was stucking in the past and never moved on from this tragedy. But in his place, how could we react? I think i'd totally lose my mind! With Tate, Miles was struggling with his feelings, torn between his fear of losing someone again, being involved in a relationship which could ripped his heart and soul again too like the first time.

Tate is so different, a light through his shadow, carefree, funny, beautiful inside and outside. She could sense how bad was Mile's past. Even with his big  luggage, she wouldn't fight her sidden chemistry. She wanted all of him but he was always pushing her away. His body said something and his words otherwise.

Things getting ugly and Miles' closing on himself, Tate gave him space but never give up on him. If what they felt was strong enough? If could they find hapiness again? Miles was such a poet and had a lyrical way to describe his feelings and world he acted in.But sometimes people have to leave to make others realized what they lost.

Each time, Colleen Hoover gets me! This one was torturing me.I was hurting with Miles, having hope with Tate, and sometimes my heart was totally crushing, t into pieces. But this story was so well written, with a poetry so specific to Colleen Hoover, a beautiful tale between Tate and Miles.

Miles and Tate, i didn't love you, i just flew!
